Vacant Council Position

Hebron Village Council is seeking applicants interested in being considered for appointment to fill a vacant Council seat. Village Council serves as the legislative branch of the local government and votes on laws and proposals relating to various topics such as community issues, safety, personnel and budget matters. The selected person would be expected to attend all meetings of Village Council. This appointment will fill an unexpired term that runs through 12/31/2025. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Hebron for at least one year, and a registered voter. Interested residents should submit a resume and letter of interest by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 to the Hebron Municipal Complex, 934 W. The Village of Hebron Planning & Zoning Board has scheduled a Public Hearing on:
Monday, January 8, 2024, at 6:00 pm – in Council Chambers, 934 W. Main Street, Hebron, OH 43025

1.     An application was received for Site Development. The applicant has applied for site development for the property located at 3272 Hebron Road, Hebron, OH. Parcel # 078-334482-00.000.

2.     An application was received for a Conditional Use. The applicant has applied for a conditional use for the property located at 161 S. High Street, Hebron, OH. Parcel # 075-344976-00.002.  

3.      An application was received for a Variance. The applicant has applied for a variance for new multi-family residential construction for the property located at 3272 Hebron Road, Hebron, OH. Parcel # 078-334482-00.000.

Public Notice- Public Hearing

The Village of Hebron Council has scheduled a Public Hearing on Wednesday,
January 24, 2024 at 6:00 pm in Council Chambers at the Hebron Municipal Building located at 934 W. Main Street, Hebron, OH 43025.

 

The purpose of this hearing is to review a recommendation from the Hebron Planning & Zoning Board for the following request:

The Village of Hebron has applied for a Zoning Amendment, in compliance with Zoning Code 1111. The applicant is requesting the property located at 3261 Hebron Road be rezoned from C1 – Conservation 1 District to M1 – Manufacturing 1 District.

The Hebron Planning & Zoning Board recommends the request be granted as requested.

A copy of the proposed amendment and an aerial view map are available for public examination at the Hebron Municipal Building, in the office of the Economic & Community Development Director and the public is invited to attend the Public Hearing.

  3. amendment to Chapter 1147 (Special Provisions- Fences)

  4. amendment to Chapter 1179 (Subdivisions- Sidewalks)

PRESS RELEASE-NEW VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR

Mr. Jung-Han Chen was sworn in by Mayor James Layton as Hebron’s newest Village Administrator on October 16, 2023, his first day on the job. Mr. Chen brought with him an extensive background in public service and municipal government administration. He most recently served as the Assistant City Manager in Beeville, Texas and has previous experience as the Planning & Development Director in Trotwood, Ohio and Community Development Director in Oxford, Ohio. He also worked in the Ohio cities of Huber Heights, Middletown, and Dayton.

Mr. Chen earned his master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the Ohio State University and his second master’s degree in Government and Politics from St. John’s University, New York. He has been a member of the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners for over twenty years. Mr. Chen also received certificates in the Economic Development and Housing Development professions.

“Hebron has a lot to offer, and I really enjoyed the hospitality and warm welcome from the Council members, Village staff, as well as residents. There are a lot of projects occurring in Hebron and I look forward to the opportunity of working with the Mayor, Council and staff to continue the progress that has been made by the Mayor, Village Council, and the leadership to improve/enhance the quality of life for the existing and new residents,” stated Mr. Chen.
